Kathmandu: Monsoon winds continue to impact Nepal, bringing with them the likelihood of rainfall across the country today. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reports that the monsoon's low-pressure system is positioned around its average location in the west and slightly to the south and east.

According to the latest weather bulletin, the country will experience partly to generally cloudy skies, with light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning expected in some areas, particularly in Koshi and Lumbini provinces. The afternoon forecast predicts similar conditions, with light to moderate rain likely in various parts of all seven provinces.

Heavy rainfall is anticipated in the hilly regions of Koshi Province. As night falls, the weather is expected to remain cloudy in the hilly regions, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Light to moderate rain is also expected in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces, with isolated showers in other regions.

The Department has urged the public to remain cautious of potential risks such as floods, landslides, and soil erosion in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, where heavy rainfall is most likely. Authorities have been advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate any disruptions to daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and transportation.
